Nutritional and Functional Benefits:
Garlic: immunostimulant properties; supports liver function and elimination of metabolic waste; hypocholesterolemic, hypolipidemic, antiplatelet, hypotensive, and hypoglycemic effects that support cardiovascular health.
Carrots: rich in vitamins (B1, B2, C, PP/niacin, E, D), carotenoids, minerals, and bioactive compounds that support immune function, visual health, diuretic activity, and wound healing; protect the cardiovascular system; suitable for individuals with kidney disease; support liver function; provide folic acid linked to serotonin production, supporting mood and counteracting depression.
Chickpea flour: supports immune system function and glycemic regulation; protects cardiovascular health due to its mineral, vitamin, and antioxidant content; suitable for individuals with kidney disease; beneficial for liver function.
Cornmeal: source of zinc, which supports immune system function; suitable for individuals with kidney disease.
Extra-virgin olive oil: source of Vitamin E, which protects the immune system from harmful fatty acids.
Potatoes: rich in carotenoids and Vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that combats free radicals and supports immune and cardiovascular systems; beneficial for liver function; provide folic acid linked to serotonin production, supporting mood and counteracting depression.
Parsley: rich in carotenoids, minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that support immune and cardiovascular health; suitable for individuals with kidney disease; beneficial for liver function.
Tuna: source of zinc and selenium, which support immune function by inhibiting prostaglandin formation that interferes with cellular function; rich in omega-3 fatty acids that inhibit platelet aggregation (a cardiovascular risk factor); beneficial for liver function; omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids exert antidepressant effects and support nervous system efficiency and memory.
