The wide number of Italian agri-food products is mainly the result of ancient knowledge, derived from production techniques that often could be qualified as true art.
These products enjoy the fame and consideration typical of the oral tradition, with attribution of contents of quality, safety and direct link with territories that in fact are often not adequately highlighted.
The aim of FoodArts is to present the products, and to provide documentation on quality, composition, sensory characteristics, food safety, production areas and techniques, and also on consumption methods.
FoodArts is therefore offering to the consumer insights and reasons useful to perform conscious choices.
At the same time, it is aimed at the markets, to actively contribute in counteracting the too many imitations of “Italian Sounding food” by offering a deep insight of authentic Italian products.
And it is also aimed at the myriad of small Italian food companies that make up the backbone of the Italian agri-food system, providing help for greater competitiveness. Also to increase their ability of being present on foreign markets, by virtue of the importance of knowledge that they can propose, and providing the scientifically sustainable guarantees of quality and safety, who act as foundation of a free and safe food market.
A site that aims to propagate organized and documented information, giving concrete substance to abstract expressions, and trying to increasingly highlight the value that is beyond the products; that is, the ethical behavior of companies that too often lack the kind of communication that this site wants to promote, by using more and more a new tool for development of value in agri-food productions: the Ethical Passport.
Lastly, in order to avoid limitations due to any slight arrogance, and to capture opportunities that the habits and preferences of other populations may constitute for our companies and their great ability to adapt the processes, the site opens up to gather information from foreign markets and consumers about the reasons why our products could face dislikes or unsatisfactory judgements, and how differently our foreign friends would like our products to be.
